A canter!?!?

Tug offered a canter today! I was taking it slow during the circling game, and was surprised that he did two solid laps, when he started on the third one. He stopped after that but when I sent him again, I let him walk a lap and then I thought I politely asked for a trot. He jumped right into a canter! He wasn’t leaning and pulling, it was kinda soft and rocking. :D I actually haven’t taught him to transition up to a canter, but now I’m thinking he’s ready! We had a really good stick to me after that too.
